1. 在表示兩倍時，我們常用twice或double。

　　This year we have produced twice as much corn as we did last year. 我們今年生產的玉米是去年的兩倍。

　　She is double my age. 她的年齡是我的兩倍。

　　2. 在表示三倍或三倍以上的倍數(shù)時，我們常用times表示，可以譯為"是......的幾倍";"比......大/高/長......幾倍"等等。

　　The size of your room is five times the size of mine. 你房間的面積是我房間面積的五倍。

　?、?用"主語+謂語+...times + 形容詞(副詞)的比較級 + than +被比較的內容"表示。

　　Your bag is twice bigger than mine. 你的包比我的大兩倍。

　　③ 用"主語+謂語+...times + 形容詞+ (n.) + as + 被比較的內容"表示。

　　Your book is three times as thick as mine. 你的書比我的書厚三倍。

　?、?用"主語+謂語+...times + what引導的從句"表示。

　　Cotton output is now ten times what it was ten years ago. 目前棉花的產量是十年前的十倍。

　?、?用"主語+謂語+...times + upon(或over)..."表示。

　　The size of the sun is a million times over that of the earth. 太陽的體積比地球的體積大一百萬倍。

　　3. 可用"主語+謂語+...+ as + 形容詞(副詞) + again + as"表示。

　　Nine is as much again as three. 九是三的倍數(shù)。

　　4. 可用"主語+謂語+ 倍數(shù)(百分比)"表示。

　　This year we'll learn 20% more words from our texts than we did last year. 今年我們學習的單詞比去年多20%。

　　5. 用"主語+謂語+ to + 數(shù)詞"表示"增加到......數(shù)"。

　　The number of students in our school has increased to 2001. 我們學校的學生數(shù)已增加到兩千零一人。

　　6. 用"主語+謂語+by+數(shù)詞(百分比、倍數(shù))等"表示。

　　The cost of the paper has reduced by 4%. 報紙的成本已減低了百分之四。

　　7. 用"主語+謂語+...+ as +形容詞(副詞)+ as +..."表示。

　　My English is not half so / as good as yours. 我的英語沒有你的一半好。
